Team Trick Tank dominates Charlotte Arenacross
Team Trick Tank riders, Jake Gilbertson, Justin Hopson, Josh Harris and Jim Chester all competed at this past weekend at the JMX ArenaCross in their hometown of Charlotte, N.C. and all came away with podium finishes and a few victories. Leading the charge at the Cricket Arena was the team's coach/mentor Jim "The Wrecker" Chester who won the Open Pro class on both Friday and Saturday night for a clean sweep of the event. Jake Gilbertson won the Super Mini class on Friday night and finished second on Saturday night to take the overall title. Josh Harris also had a big weekend as he won both the 250cc and 450cc main events on Saturday night and wowed the capacity crowd with his high-flying antics off of the big jump drawing applause every time he hit the jump. Justin Hopson, who had a cast removed from his left wrist on Thursday, and not having the opportunity to practice, put on quite a show in the Open Pro class finishing second to his team mate Chester in Saturday's main event. "This was a great showing by the guys," team owner Bob Gilbertson said. "I'm so proud of all of them and to see them do so well in front of all of their family and friends who were in attendance. This will give them a lot of momentum going into the up-coming events." The team will have a few days off before heading out to Baltimore this weekend for the Toyota ArenaCross, round number two of the Eastern region points chase that determines qualifiers for the U.S. Open in October in Las Vegas.
